Burmese Gandhi
“It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it.”
This is the beginning of an amazing speech by today’s Mahatma Gandhi – Suu Kyi – She has been fighting non-violently to free Burma from the military rule and has been (intermittently) placed under house arrest since 1990.
Guys, we too are really fortunate in the sense that she has a very important connection with our India as well. She lived with her mother for quite a long time here and in fact got her education from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi.
